Innovative Student Solutions Leverage Technology and AI to Advance Vision 2030
Students from King Abdulaziz University secured first and third place in the “Misk City Mobility Solutions Hackathon,” held as part of the Misk Global Forum 2025. The competition was designed to empower young innovators to develop practical and creative solutions for real-world challenges, contributing to the goals of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
The “Darb Misk” team, comprising students from the Faculty of Engineering in Rabigh, won first place with an innovative solution that transforms the transportation experience. Their project proposed an API that links ride-hailing apps such as Uber with other mobility services. The aim is to turn car rides into personalized, interactive cultural journeys for tourists and visitors to Misk City, delivering curated content tailored to the route and the passenger’s interests.

The “Salis” team, a multidisciplinary group from various university faculties, earned third place for their pioneering mobility management solution. Their smart system, powered by artificial intelligence and big data, is designed to optimize movement across Misk City, offering a seamless, sustainable experience that supports the Vision 2030 objectives for smart city development.
