Course Description
|
This course aims to acquaint students with topics covering areas ranging from the transfer of data to the application software for computer networks.
|
|
Course Contents
|
$ Introduction to digital communication.
$ Network Technology and the layers that constitute the networks model, network installation, networks addresses and particularly in the Internet.
$ Protocols used in networks.
$ Local networks, access points, wireless networks, network security and methods to detect errors.
$ Examples of relevant technologies such as Ethernet, TCP / IP protocols and the Internet.

Course Outcomes
|
Upon finishing this course, the student should:
$ Identify the standard protocols of different levels of the networks.
$ Identify the different transmission means and the signals types used for transmission.
$ Identify the devices used in building networks and connectivity between them.
$ Identify the potential, characteristics and types of local networks, whether wired or wireless or fiber.
$ Knowledge of the principles of application programming on the network.
